I started as a coach, then went on to become a licensed professional counselor. That license has since lapsed, but the clinical training and years of practice have shaped what I bring to this work. Along the way, I built my own understanding of perimenopause and hormonal health largely out of necessity, reading the research, testing things on myself, and figuring out what actually holds up versus what's just noise.
On my 49th birthday, I made a decision. Not a resolution, a decision. I was going to spend the next year arriving at 50 on purpose, health, body, finances, all of it, instead of letting the year just happen to me. I didn't know yet what that would actually require. Most women don't, not until they're already in it.
A few months later, brunch with a friend I hadn't seen in close to a decade added something to that decision I hadn't expected. She looked different, leaner, more radiant, despite having just come off a grueling year of medical residency training. She told me plainly what she'd been doing: medication, weight training, finally getting a handle on what she was eating..
She wasn't fazed by any of it, even though she hadn't fully cracked it either. She was still adjusting her plan through trial and error. Watching her be that honest about still figuring it out gave me permission to trust my own research and my own judgment instead of waiting for certainty before I acted.
I'd already started down this path. That conversation is what made me willing to actually try things, and trust them, instead of just reading about them."
Most women get almost nothing when this transition starts. Symptoms get dismissed, appointments run twelve minutes, and the burden of figuring out what's actually happening falls on her. That gap, between what women are going through and what the medical system has time or infrastructure to address, is what this practice exists to close. Not by replacing your doctor, but by helping you walk into that twelve minutes prepared, informed, and ready to advocate for yourself.
This is not a clinical practice, and I'm not a replacement for your doctor. I don't diagnose, I don't prescribe, and I don't tell you what your labs should say. What I do is help you understand your options clearly enough to make your own informed decisions, and to have better conversations with the providers who can act on them.
